Conference Track: IoT and Connected Devices , Advanced Technologies

Vault Recording: TBD

Demonstration and walk through of a new open source project for Gigabit Ethernet networking focusing on Internet Privacy and Security applications. Utilize this low cost, open FPGA-based platform to achieve an unprecedented level of network visibility & control and turn your Raspberry Pi or other maker board into a powerful network processor.

Walk throughs include a review of the open source Verilog as well as demonstrations of various live network applications. See packets captured, inspected, and displayed in real-time. Learn about the necessary attributes of a network processing architecture and ways to deal with the inherent complexities and high data rates of Gigabit Ethernet networking.

Attendees will gain a deep understanding of Ethernet frames and the complexities and requirements for processing full-duplex Gigabit data streams on low-cost, open hardware. Discussions will also include the importance of an open FPGA architecture for security and privacy as well as its potential applications.

Note that this is a new open source project and an opportunity for all makers, network enthusiasts, and developers (regardless of expertise) to hop aboard.
